Epcot Overview
Although
it's mainly known for its "international flavor" thanks to the Avenue
of the Americas attraction, Disney's Epcot theme park has a variety
of rides and attractions to entertain you for the entire day. Although
Epcot lacks genuine 'thrill rides', attractions such as "Spaceship
Earth", "Test Track", and "Mission: Space" help make Epcot worth
the trip. While in the park, you'll definitely want to check out
"Soarin'", which was moved to Walt Disney World's Epcot theme park
from Disneyland. Soarin' makes the trip worthwhile in and of itself!
Disney's Epcot theme park is composed of two sections: Future
World, and World Showcase.
Future World celebrates innovation and inventions on land, sea,
sky, and space, and features a number of hands on and interactive
exhibits. Future world is comprised of separate pavilions arranged
in a circle around a central hub called "Innoventions".
The other main section of Epcot is the World
Showcase. The numerous pavilions of Epcot's World Showcase are
arranged in a circle around the World Showcase Lagoon. You can walk
completely around the lagoon (a very long walk!) to visit each country,
or you can take a ferry across the lagoon to either of two points
on the other side.
