Lands of Animal Kingdom
Oasis
Although the Oasis is really nothing more than the entrance to
Disney's Animal Kingdom, and provides no attractions, it becomes
part of the Animal Kingdom 'experience' as you traverse the winding
paths into the jungle. You'll feel as if you've left the hustle
& bustle of central Florida and entered an entirely different
kind of world! It also features guest services, lockers, and ATM,
etc.
Camp
Minnie-Mickey
Camp Minnie-Mickey is one of the smaller hubs of Disney's Animal
Kingdom. Still, it's a great place for kids! Camp Minnie-Mickey
features two attractions, The Festival of the Lion King, an outstanding
live-action show based on the Broadway musical, and Pocahontas and
Her Forest Friends featuring a variety of live animals. You'll meet
many Disney favorites on the Camp Minnie-Mickey Greeting Trails
too!
Africa
Kilimanjaro Safaris is the highlight of Africa at Walt Disney World's
Animal Kingdom. You'll tour the African plains in an open air SUV
as you wind through the habitats of lions, elephants, giraffes,
rhinos, hippos, and more. Also take a stroll through Pangani Forest
Exploration Trail to see a variety of other African wildlife.
Rafiki's
Planet Watch
You can only visit Rafiki's Planet Watch by riding the Wildlife
Express Train that boards near the Pangani Forest Exploration Trail.
This exhibit provides guests insight into what it takes to run Disney's
Animal Kingdom, and provides an insightful overview into conservations,
animal care, and endangered species. Kids can meet Rafiki himself
as well as Jiminy Cricket.
Asia
The highlights of Asia are Kali River Rapids and Expedition Everest.
Kali River Rapids is an exhilarating white water rafting ride through
a man-made canyon, and Expedition Everest is an exciting roller
coaster that features a wild train ride up the world's tallest mountain
in an authentically icy setting. While in Asia, visit the Maharajah
Jungle Trek to see Bengal tigers, Komodo dragons, and bats too!
Dinoland
U.S.A.
In Dinoland U.S.A. at Disney's Animal Kingdom, you'll get a chance
to go back in time in Dinosaur, an exciting thrill ride
where you'll encounter a T-Rex! Kids can play in The Boneyard, a
dinosaur-themed play area. Finding Nemo- the Musical is also here.
It's a delightful stage & special effects show based on the movie.
Discovery
Island
Discovery Island lies at the center of Animal Kingdom and is thus
the 'hub' of the spoke and hub design of the park. Here you'll find
the Tree of Life, the symbol of Disney's Animal Kingdom. The tree
has hundreds of animal shapes carved into its trunk. You may also
want to check out Flik and his friends during the "It's Tough to
be a Bug!" show.
You'll have a 'wild' time at Disney's Animal Kingdom theme park
roaming amongst the wild animals in Kilimanjaro Safaris, searching
for the Yeti on Expedition Everest, or just learning about wildlife
conservation at Rafiki's Planet Watch!
