| Although
Magic
Kingdom, Epcot,
Hollywood
Studios, and Animal
Kingdom get most of the attention of Disney visitors, there
are a variety of things to do in the Orlando Area that are outside
of four giant theme parks of Walt Disney World.
Check out one of Disney's awesome water parks, or spend some time
in Downtown Disney. You'll find plenty to enjoy!

Disney Water parks
If
you're looking to venture beyond the four great theme parks of Walt
Disney World, check out Disney's water parks: Typhoon
Lagoon and Blizzard
Beach. If you get the "Water parks & more" option on your Disney
tickets, you'll get a visit to one of the 'extra' attractions for
each day of your park pass.
Both of Disney's water parks offer a variety of water slides, a
wave pool, and several other attractions that will give you plenty
to do for an entire day- or even for a couple of days if you're
spending a week (or more) at Walt Disney World.
Both water parks offer activities for adults, teens, tweens, and
younger kids too. Take a look at our water parks pages to learn
more about Typhoon Lagoon & Blizzard Beach!
Typhoon
Lagoon - Disney's original water park features a huge
wave pool, a beautiful beach, and tons of great water slides!
Blizzard
Beach - A snowstorm has hit Central Florida, and up springs
a ski resort! Get ready for Summit Plummet!
Downtown Disney
Downtown
Disney has certainly come a long way from its humble beginnings
as a convenience store for Orlando area guests. It has evolved into
an enormous collection of shops, shows, restaurants, and just plain
fun. With something to do for everyone, it's a great place for the
entire family.
Downtown Disney is divided into three unique areas: West
Side, Marketplace,
and Pleasure
Island, all linked by walking paths, busses, or ferry service.
You can expect pretty good crowds all day long, and parking can
be a challenge. The nighttime is when Downtown Disney really comes
alive! It's a great place to visit on the day you arrive at Walt
Disney World, or any time you're planning a non-park day.
West
Side - Downtown Disney West side is home to restaurants
and shops, and even a 24-screen theater complex! It's also home
to two of Downtown Disney's HOTTEST attractions!
Marketplace
- Shop 'til you drop at Downtown Disney Marketplace! It's
home to some very cool little (and not so little) stores that are
in some cases unique to Disney.
Pleasure
Island - Pleasure Island still seems to be searching
for its niche in the world of Downtown Disney. Originally home to
many nightclubs and bars, it never completely caught on. Disney
has made many recent changes to this area as it seeks to revive
Pleasure Island.
